If you're flying from Manchester and want a comfortable base the night before, or arriving late and need somewhere to recover, Carlton House is the straightforward option. It sleeps five, has off-road parking, and you check yourself in.
Why a Holiday Let Makes More Sense Than an Airport Hotel
Airport hotels are convenient in one way and inconvenient in every other. They're expensive for what you get, the rooms are small, and if you're travelling as a group or a family, you're either cramming into one room or paying for two.
Carlton House sleeps five across three bedrooms. There's a full kitchen, separate living and dining areas, and off-road parking for two cars. You can cook an evening meal, get a proper night's sleep, and leave for the terminal in the morning without the stress of early check-in or overpriced car parks.
The park and ride is two minutes' walk from the property. If you'd rather not drive to the terminal, the bus service runs directly there.
What Makes Carlton House Work for Airport Stays
Check-in is via a key box. The code is sent to you on the afternoon of your arrival day, along with a pre-arrival email covering everything you need to know. There's no need to meet anyone or be there at a specific time.
Off-road parking for two cars is included. There's no permit required and no time limit during your stay.
The minimum stay is three nights. Carlton House works best as a pre-flight base if you're in the area for a couple of days beforehand, or arriving early enough to make the most of having a full house rather than a single room.
Getting to the Airport
There are two straightforward routes to Manchester Airport from Carlton House.
By car: The drive takes around 10 minutes via the new road. Off-road parking is available at the property for the duration of your stay if you're leaving a car behind.
By bus (park and ride): The park and ride stop is a two-minute walk from Carlton House. A regular bus service runs directly to the airport terminal. This is the better option if you'd rather not drive or if some of the group are staying behind.

This deceptively spacious semi detached property is a real gem! The place was well appointed and the host even included amenities.
A lot of effort was made to make this place feel homey so congratulations to the owner for succeeding.
Bed and chairs were comfortable, towels were soft, internet was quick, location was peaceful (away from the flight path) and provided easy access to the Trafford Centre and Manchester Airport so overall it provides great value for money.
I’d happily recommend this place and would say that this would be my go-to place in Manchester.
Good location with access to Stockport and nearby pubs and restaurants. Nearby Torkington Park was a bonus and also close to Lyme Park and the Peak District.

Suchi's place is exactly as the listing describes. It was spotlessly clean, spacious, comfortable and free of clutter. We stayed for an extended period due to having building work done on our home, and it was nice to move into a place that had room for us and our essential belongings. Suchi gave very comprehensive instructions on the check-in process, and helpful local recommendations. We are in fact coming back for another three weeks due to the building work being extended. This place has been a real life-saver for us!
Great location in a nice quiet residential area but only a short walk to local amenities. Parking space is very handy too. Kitchen had everything we needed, bathrooms were clean & shower gel supplied. Plenty of towels & bedding and very easy to use heating system. Would stay here again when coming back to the area.
