The Peak District: On the Doorstep
Carlton House sits at the southern edge of the Peak District. You don’t need to plan a long drive to get there. Lyme Park is about a mile away: a National Trust estate with red deer, formal gardens, and views back towards Manchester. Chatsworth House is further into the Peak District but still an easy day trip.
The area is well suited to walking, cycling, and days out in the countryside. If that’s part of why you’re visiting the area, Carlton House is a practical base for it.

Hazel Grove is a busy suburb with most things you’d need within easy reach. There’s a convenience store directly across the road. Restaurants, pubs, and bars are all close by. Torkington Park is two minutes’ walk and a good option for families with children or guests with dogs.
There are two golf clubs within easy reach: one within walking distance and one approximately a mile away. A riding school is also accessible on foot.
Stepping Hill Hospital is a mile and a half from the property. For guests staying at Carlton House because of a relative in hospital, that distance matters.
